\"womanWe are excited to welcome FDC associate director Dr. Stephanie D. Freis to Furman<\/span>!\u00a0 <\/span>Originally from Wisconsin, she earned her master\u2019s and doctorate degrees in Social Psychology at The Ohio State University. While there, she gained experience as the Course Coordinator and Instructor Consultant for the social psychology department and supported the campus more widely as an Academic Success Specialist. Her research has focused on two main themes including narcissism and entitlement in non-clinical samples as well as teaching and learning in the college context. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span>She continued her work in research and pedagogy as a tenured psychology faculty member at Presbyterian College. At PC she held many leadership roles including <\/span>Chair of Excellence in Teaching <\/span>where she organized a team of faculty to provide support to instructors through professional development, first-year mentoring, writing accountability, and more. She was also the Assessment Coordinator for Psychology that included a department-wide curricular revision, a workshop facilitator focused on trainings in inclusion and constructive dialogue, and the coordinator and analyst for Presby First+ which supports first-generation college students. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span>She is eager to collaborate across the university to support faculty\u2019s growth as educators, scholars, and community members!
