\"\"Gathering student feedback on instruction at the mid-term, whether through<\/span><\/span> self-administered feedback survey templates<\/a> and reflection or through our Small Group Instructional Feedback Process<\/span><\/a> (SGIF) can provide specific, actionable, and kind feedback to improve your teaching and amplify student learning before the end of the semester. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Because we have lost instructional days to Helene, investing 30-minutes of class time to conduct an SGIF may not be feasible for you and your students this semester. However, we remain ready and eager to work with you and your students should you wish. And, you may want to invest in an SGIF for the behavioral effect it has on students: Furman data indicates that Student Opinion of Instruction response rates for courses where SGIF sessions were conducted are up to 3X higher than university averages at the end of the term, typically greater than 75% (and in some cases a 100% response rate!). While we recognize the limits of SOIs, we also acknowledge that a higher response rate links to more reliable feedback on your course.
