The center houses three offices, including those dedicated to <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.furman.edu\/sites\/internship\/Pages\/default.aspx\">internships<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/studyaway.furman.edu\/\">study away<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.furman.edu\/sites\/ur\/Pages\/default.aspx\">undergraduate research<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Shi Institute for Sustainable Communities<\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW97463107 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW97463107 BCX0\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/shi-institute\/\">Shi Institute<\/a> provides a hub where students, educators and community leaders work together, exploring complex themes at the nexus of human and environmental well-being.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW97463107 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span>They also have an active <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.furman.edu\/academics\/shicenter\/programs\/Pages\/Faculty-Development.aspx\">Faculty Affiliates<\/a> program and other faculty development and funding opportunities available.<\/p>\n<h2>Institute for the Advancement of Community Health<\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW126224887 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW126224887 BCX0\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/institute-advancement-community-health\/\">institute<\/a> provides a framework for students, faculty and community partners to convene and collaborate to positively impact the health of the population in Greenville and beyond.\u00a0 Through support from its partnerships with the Greenville Health System and other community organizations, students are connected to health-related internships, research and mentorship opportunities.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW126224887 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Richard W.
