For the latest updates about undergraduate research projects and the Summer Research fellow program, please stay in touch with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/undergraduate-research\/\">Office of Undergraduate Research<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/institutional-review-board\/\">Institutional Review Board<\/a>. In particular, note any current restrictions on research with human subjects.<\/p>\n<p>Furman faculty have demonstrated great prowess in adapting undergraduate research efforts to accommodate restrictions on engagement, travel, and human subjects interaction. This <a href=\"https:\/\/furman.box.com\/s\/dzz04z7tp1eg9u6w3xl5zuauyaitp9ts\">recording<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/furman.box.com\/s\/x507if9i4qxhxqacl5keplrcuhtr8krp\">handout<\/a> from an inter-institutional webinar about how the pandemic improved undergraduate research mentorship practices highlights a number of the adaptive strategies and &#8220;lessons learned&#8221; from colleagues who have supported recent projects.<\/p>\n<p><em>Colleagues have indicated that the following resources have been of greatest use in planning for flexible undergraduate research projects:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Staff in Learning Technology can provide a wide variety of <a href=\"https:\/\/furman.box.com\/s\/oeevxifwucs7rc9yjfaiphtrkb31ybe6\">instructional technology support<\/a> for your research projects &#8211; from data management and manipulation platforms to support in communicating project results.<\/li>\n<li>Furman&#8217;s Executive Reflection Fellow Stephanie Knouse offers <a href=\"https:\/\/furman.box.com\/s\/hgjuu120frqz3cr6ch8kuapna8hngvp5\">this set of tips for incorporating reflection practices<\/a> into your modified research project to support critical thinking and reflection among student partners.<\/li>\n<li>Faculty across disciplines have found success utilizing online project management software &#8211; with some of the most common among Furman research mentors being <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/IMAFWVLGFyw\">Asana<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/ObkWrfukomA\">Monday.com<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/p82hS0K32fA\">Microsoft Planner<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/xky48zyL9iA\">Trello<\/a>.
