For helpful suggestions&#8211;from easy to heavy lift&#8211;on how to stay on track when the unexpected arises, find our resources <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/faculty-development-center\/faculty-resources\/remote-learning-digital-collaboration\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Duke Library<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/libguides.furman.edu\/library\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Furman University Libraries<\/a> offers many opportunities for collaboration and classroom support.\u00a0 If you plan to use research assignments in your classes, <a href=\"http:\/\/libguides.furman.edu\/outreach\/research-instruction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Outreach Services Librarians<\/a> are your best resource for designing and implementing those assignments.\u00a0They provide invaluable help for faculty in crafting research assignments and for students in conducting research.\u00a0 Each academic department, major, and minor has a <a href=\"http:\/\/libguides.furman.edu\/outreach\/liaisons\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Library Liaison<\/a> who is available to support your teaching and research.<\/p>\n<h3>Center for Academic Success<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/academics\/center-academic-success\/\">The Center for Academic Success<\/a>\u00a0(CAS) provides students with many services that can help them succeed in their time at Furman.\u00a0 They offer one-on-one meetings or small group workshops on study skills, time management, note-taking, exam preparation, and academic counseling.<\/p>\n<h3>Writing and Media Lab<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/academics\/center-academic-success\/writing-resources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Writing &amp; Media Lab<\/a> (WML) is Furman&#8217;s writing center and multimedia composition center.\u00a0 The WML helps students through one-on-one consultations about writing assignments, video projects, presentations, and more.\u00a0 The staff of the WML can also help you plan, design, and implement multimedia assignments in your classes.\u00a0 If you&#8217;re interested in asking your students to create a video, podcast, or other multimedia composition project, contact <a href=\"mailto:jean.schwab@furman.edu\">Jean Schwab<\/a>, WML Assistant Director, for a consultation about your assignment.<\/p>\n<h3>Peer Assisted Learning<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/academics\/center-academic-success\/tutoring\/\">Peer Assisted Learning Program<\/a>, rolled out in Fall 2020, offers students the chance to engage with their fellow students around course content outside of the classroom in order to improve and deepen their learning. \u00a0We primarily offer small-group tutoring in most introductory-level and GER courses. All groups are facilitated by a trained undergraduate student Peer Learning Consultant. All of our services\u00a0emphasize collaboration and co-learning between students and Consultants.<\/p>\n<h3>Lightboard Studio<\/h3>\n<p>The Blended Learning Studio (BLS) is a resource for faculty and students, which provides a space for creating instructional videos and supplemental materials for class. Lecture capture, student project support, screencasting help, and other requests are supported.\u200b\u200b\u200b\u00a0 The BLS is also the home of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/offices-services\/information-technology-services\/it-services\/lightboard\/\">Furman Lightboard<\/a>, a teaching tool for instructional video that allows lecturers to write on a board while facing their students. It significantly improves lecture capture by eliminating the problem of the whiteboard, which requires instructors to turn away from their students to write. There is also little to no post-production, so the process is quick.\u00a0 Contact\u00a0 <a href=\"mailto:service.center@furman.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Information Technology Services (ITS)<\/a> for an appointment to talk about how you might use the Lightboard in your classes.<\/p>\n<h3>Information and Technology Services<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www2.furman.edu\/sites\/ITS\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Information Technology &amp; Services (ITS)<\/a> connects you with many technology and teaching resources on campus.\u00a0 From workshops and technology support to collaborating on using technology in your classes effectively, ITS can partner with you.\u00a0 The ITS website has <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.furman.edu\/sites\/ITS\/facstaff\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Faculty &amp; Staff Resources<\/a> as well as a list of <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.furman.edu\/sites\/ITS\/Services\/Pages\/default.aspx\">available services<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.furman.edu\/sites\/ITS\/facstaff\/Pages\/FacultyStaffComputingServices.aspx\">collaboration tools<\/a>.
