Visit Academic Records.<\/a><\/p>\n The Center for Academic Success<\/a> (CAS) provides students with many services that can help them succeed in their time at Furman.\u00a0 They offer one-on-one meetings or small group workshops on study skills, time management, note-taking, exam preparation, and academic counseling.<\/p>\n CAS is also the home of two peer-support programs:<\/p>\n Success@Furman\u00a0(aka Starfish) is a communication tool designed to connect students with campus resources. Large or small, good or bad, action required or not, we welcome any information you would like to share! Students may be sent reminders about support resources available to them, and campus resources will be aware of your concern and able to support that student in a manner consistent with your recommendations, actions, and classroom policies.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>The Academic Dean\u2019s Office and the Center for Academic Success (CAS) monitor academic concerns, watching for students in need of support or swift intervention, and to identify concerning patterns or behaviors a student might be displaying across multiple courses.\u00a0<\/span>The Student Intervention Team (SIT), whose members include Student Life staff, the Academic Dean\u2019s Office, case managers, counseling center staff, and representatives from Furman Police, SOAR, and other appropriate offices on campus, work to create a support plan for students who may be facing challenges beyond their academic endeavors.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The SOAR office<\/a> works with many departments on campus to provide reasonable accommodations\u00a0for students with medical, physical or psychological conditions.\u00a0Instructors receive emails for each student detailing<\/a> what accommodations have been approved, the student\u2019s responsibilities in pursuing these accommodations, and who instructors should contact with questions. Additionally, instructors now will be able to access this information for all students in their courses through the\u00a0SOAR Dashboard<\/a>\u00a0(login required). Please contact the Student Office of Accessibility Resources (SOAR<\/a>) with questions.<\/p>\n Counseling Services<\/a> is available to help students with a range of challenges related to mental health and academic life.\u00a0 Their website includes instructions for students to make an appointment as well as some resources for helping students in distress<\/a>.\u00a0 They also offer various support groups<\/a> for students on topics such as grief, stress & anxiety, and managing emotions.\u00a0 The Counseling Center is in the Early Infirmary; enter through the back of the building.<\/p>\n Prisma Health provides enhanced services such as virtual consultation applications for health care (Smart Exam) and a pharmacy courier service that is able to deliver prescriptions to the campus through the Earle Student Health Center<\/a>.
