It\u2019s not uncommon to feel a little less enthusiastic about teaching during the last weeks of the semester as demands crank up and time seems to slip away. If you are frequently wondering why students seem less engaged than pre-pandemic, are feeling less energetic about teaching in general (it happens!), or want to connect with colleagues to share teaching joys, we invite you to become a part of an upcoming mid-career cohort specifically for post-tenure or even more veteran colleagues.<\/p>\n

Our first cohort opportunity will be a reading circle on Ken Bain\u2019s <\/span><\/span>What the Best College Teachers Do<\/span><\/span><\/a> OR <\/span><\/span>Teaching at Its Best<\/span><\/span><\/a>.\u00a0 The FDC has <\/span>several<\/span> hard copies of Bain\u2019s book to share with participants; both books are available freely online at the Duke Library.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The intent is for participants to read individually in December and then gather for a conversation to share community and insights from 2:30-3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17<\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span> in Duke Library 042.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
