Are you curious about ways to simultaneously improve your teaching, enhance learning, and conduct scholarly research? Have you considered exploring the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) within your discipline or area of expertise? Or, have you already invested time in thinking about potential\u00a0SoTL\u00a0projects? \u00a0Whether you are new to the\u00a0SoTL\u00a0conversation or\u00a0revisiting\u00a0it, we invite you to take part in this Talking Teaching opportunity.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

SoTL\u00a0involves iterative, systematic inquiry into processes of student learning and experience in your courses with the goal of improving those processes.\u00a0SoTL\u00a0is conducted by faculty in any discipline and is informed by the broader literature on teaching and student learning in higher education and within specific disciplines. In this\u00a0Talking Teaching\u00a0session, participants will identify or refine questions about their teaching and learning that might align with\u00a0SoTL\u00a0scholarship, discuss the basic processes involved in conducting\u00a0SoTL\u00a0research, share their experiences with the work, and preview a new FDC summer initiative called\u00a0SoTL\u00a0in Action. We welcome all levels of\u00a0SoTL\u00a0practitioners, however, no experience with\u00a0SoTL\u00a0is required.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
