Sustainability You Can Taste
Food Recovery Verified Since 2017
We’re recognized by the Food Recovery Network for our partnership with local nonprofit Loaves and Fishes, diverting surplus food from landfills to those in need.
Farm to Fork Program
Fresh produce travels from the Furman Farm to our kitchens, and food waste returns as compost to grow more.
Made From Scratch
Our chefs prepare everything fresh daily — from sauces and stocks to soups and desserts — because flavor matters.
Food Allergens
Bon Appétit at Furman safely serves many students with food allergies every day. We have clear and concise protocols that take into account our open kitchens and from-scratch cooking methods to ensure students are fed safely. We also look to the recommendations from expert professional organizations, such as Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE), so guarantee our approach remains current and reflects best practice guidelines.
Students requiring dining accommodations or seeking meal plan exemptions must submit an appeals form to the Student Office for Accessible Resources ([email protected]). Appeals will be reviewed by SOAR personnel and Bon Appétit at Furman for approval.
We safely accommodate food allergies, dietary restrictions, and cultural preferences through dedicated preparation areas, clear labeling, and our partnership with the Student Office for Accessibility Resources.
