Sam Tisdale M.S., M.B.A.

Sam Tisdale has been the Director of the Center for Corporate and Professional Development since January 2017. In this role, he oversees a wide array of non-credit academic programs for all ages and interests, which include the PostGraduate Diploma in Corporate Sustainability, The Women’s Leadership Institute, Managing across Borders,  and  Liberal Arts Executive Leadership.  Additional Services include performing training needs analyses for organizations, along with developing and facilitating the delivery of customized training programs. Prior to joining Furman, Sam was a Training and Development Director in the Skilled Trades and Manufacturing Department within the Continuing Education Division of Greenville Technical College for 20 years.

Sam received his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with a minor in philosophy from Clemson University in 1991. He completed a Master of Science degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Valdosta State University in 1995 and earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina in 2011.  He is a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the American Society for Training and Development (ATD) and the United States of America Transactional Analysis Association (USATAA).

Sam has been a registered WorkKeys Job Profiler since 2001, is certified in SHL’s Work Profiling System and related assessments and is certified in the use of a variety of psychometric pre-employment screening assessments.
