Furman Alumni Travel to Prague
A group of Furman alumni and parents visited the Czech Republic in early May as part of Furman’s growing Alumni Journeys travel program. Led by Professor of Education, Mike Svec, the group traveled to Prague for a 10-day experience to explore Czech history, culture, and the scenic landscape. In addition to historic Prague the group made excursions to Pilsen to participate in the Czech Liberation Festival and picturesque Cesky Krumlov for tours of some of Europe’s oldest castles. Travel study has been a hallmark of the Furman undergraduate experience for decades, the Alumni Journeys program was created in 2017 to allow alumni and parents to experience unique Furman faculty-led travel opportunities. Future trips for 2019 include a golf and cultural tour of Scotland, a food and wine tour of Italy, and a Harry Potter themed trip from New York over to the United Kingdom.
