Student Giving

Furman First Gift

Furman aims to grow students who excel in all areas, including service. The Furman First Gift program allows each graduating class to cultivate their legacy by way of philanthropy. This gift unifies the class under a common goal and marks an initial commitment to supporting Furman.

Furman United Endowed Scholarship Fund

This year, the Furman First Gift program will support the Class of 2020 Furman United Scholarship fund. Furman United is a needs-based scholarship that supports current Furman students who are no longer able to afford Furman. Since the program’s inception in 2008, Furman United has supported more than 250 students.

Give $20.20 or more

Senior donors who give $20.20 or more prior to commencement will receive an invitation to a Donor Appreciation event in the spring. This event is sponsored by David Trone ’77, founder and CEO of Total Wine and More. Donors at and above this level will also be included in drawings throughout the year.

Give $75 or more

Senior donors who give $75 or more prior to commencement will also receive a personalized brick on Furman’s campus as a thank you for their leadership-level contribution. This permanent marker on campus requires a minimum $1,000 gift from alumni, so it’s important to take advantage of this special offer as a senior!

All senior class donors will receive a purple Bell Tower pin to wear on their regalia at commencement.
