We know that traveling to visit college campuses can be tiring, but thankfully, Greenville is the perfect place to stay caffeinated. Whether you\u2019re searching for a specialty latte or just a simple cup of black coffee, Furman\u2019s hometown has plenty of spots to help you recharge before your campus visit. Here are a few of my favorites:<\/p>\n

Downtown Greenville<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Methodical Coffee \"\"<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n

Methodical Coffee is a nationally acclaimed coffee roaster known for their intentional menu and beautifully crafted drinks. They also serve made-from-scratch pastries, and I highly recommend the cheddar kale biscuit, but you also can\u2019t go wrong with a classic croissant. Their flagship location is downtown, but you can also find them on Wade Hampton Boulevard or in The Commons near Unity Park. Fun fact: several coffee shops around Greenville, including some on this list, use Methodical coffee beans.<\/p>\n

Coffee Underground<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n

A Greenville classic and longtime Furman student favorite. Open since 1995, and yes, actually underground! Coffee Underground has a cozy, eclectic and slightly grungy atmosphere and is known for their frozen coffees and desserts. This is the place that I would recommend to satisfy your sweet tooth. If you stop by in the evening, you might even catch a local comedy or improv performance in their theater space.<\/p>\n

Traveler’s Rest<\/h2>\n

Bridge City Coffee<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n

Just four minutes from Furman\u2019s campus, Bridge City Coffee is a popular study and hangout spot for Furman students. In addition to specialty coffee drinks and herbal teas, they offer house-made vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free syrups, making it a great option for a variety of dietary needs.<\/p>\n

Tandem Creperie and Coffeehouse<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n

We recommend fueling your body prior to walking around our almost 1,000-acre campus. If you\u2019re looking for breakfast to go with your coffee, Tandem is highly recommended by students and faculty. Sweet and savory crepes and coffee can be ordered from a yellow Volkswagen van to enjoy before your campus tour.<\/p>\n

Sans Souci<\/h2>\n

Daydrinkers \"\"<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve searched for Greenville coffee on TikTok or Instagram, chances are you\u2019ve already seen Daydrinkers. Known for their trendy aesthetic and creative drinks, it’s a great stop if you need something quick before heading to campus. They even offer canned lattes for coffee on the go!<\/p>\n

No matter where you stop for coffee, I hope you get to experience just how welcoming Greenville\u2019s coffee scene is. Exploring campus is always better with your favorite drink in hand, and hopefully these spots help you feel energized and at home while visiting Furman, because it just might become your future home, too.
