\"\" As the January 15th application deadline<\/a> approaches, I know that nerves can be a common concern. Hello, my name is Camila Canavati<\/a>, and I am a sophomore at Furman University! I was in your shoes only two years ago, and I can still remember the sentiments I felt while applying to colleges. This process can be overwhelming, but that’s what I’m here for! Follow along on my blog to see how I pictured myself here and how you can too!<\/p>\n

The January 15th Deadline<\/h2>\n

The January 15th deadline stands for more than just a due date. It marks the beginning of a new chapter, the first steps you take towards accomplishing your future goals. Submitting your college applications<\/a> grants you the opportunity to take a step back and start imagining where you will spend your next four years, and I personally think there is no better place to picture yourself than Furman University!<\/p>\n

By applying by November 1st, you are taking that leap and pushing yourself! Taking that leap and applying to Furman means that you are saying yes to scenic walks around the lake, afternoon coffee chats on the James B. Duke<\/a> library steps, or conversations with your professors who want to challenge you and ultimately turn into your Furman family. \"\"<\/p>\n

Picturing Myself at Furman<\/h2>\n

When I was applying to colleges, I strived to tour all of my options. I took this advice from one of my advisors because it is one thing to like a university, but it’s another thing to picture yourself attending it. On all of my tours, I viewed the students who attended the institution and tried to insert myself there. Through all of those college tours, I could only picture myself at one place, Furman University!<\/p>\n

During my tour<\/a> at Furman, I pictured myself spending time with my friends in Trone Student Center<\/a>, building connections with my professors, walking along the Furman Mall, and attending all of my classes. I saw myself everywhere on campus; the image wouldn’t leave my mind. That’s how I knew Furman was the right place for me!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Picture Yourself at Furman<\/h2>\n

\"\" When you are applying to Furman, you’re not just applying to a college. You’re choosing to be part of a community! And this is a community that values individuality, growth, leadership, and connection. The moment that you set foot onto campus, you’ll notice the big ‘din energy! Students are constantly engaged in lively conversations, professors care about helping you achieve your goals, and you’ll see a beautiful campus that inspires you to challenge yourself.<\/p>\n

Furman has a perfect blend of rigorous academics and offers real-world learning opportunities. This allows you to receive your degree at graduation, but also leaves you with a deeper understanding of what you want to achieve post-graduation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
