Here are some of my favorite places that I go to around Furman\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Swamp Rabbit Trail<\/strong><\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Swamp Rabbit Trail is a 22-mile greenway that walkers and bikers use to connect Travelers Rest with the City of Greenville, South Carolina. It goes right by Furman, and during the summer, I biked to the Swamp Rabbit Cafe with my friends!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-10645 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/admissions-aid\/admission-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/212\/2022\/10\/Gurung-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 225px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 225\/300;\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Paris Mountain State Park<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Paris Mountain State Park is about 20 minutes away from campus and has easy hiking trails for locals to enjoy. It is one of the most popular places for Furman students to watch the sunrise. I recently went to Bald Rock with the Cothran Center for Vocational Reflection for a weekend retreat!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-10643 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/admissions-aid\/admission-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/212\/2022\/10\/Gurung-4.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 225px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 225\/300;\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Sky Top Orchard<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sky Top is about 45 minutes away from campus, and it is the best place to go apple picking! They sell apple cider, mouthwatering cider donuts, and other tasty treats!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-10642 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/admissions-aid\/admission-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/212\/2022\/10\/Gurung-5.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"300\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 240px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 240\/300;\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Craggy Pinnacle Hike<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Craggy Gardens is located in Asheville, a little over 1 hour away. It is a fairly short hike, taking about 30 minutes roundtrip, but the sunrise and sunset view from the pinnacle is absolutely worth the drive!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10641 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/admissions-aid\/admission-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/212\/2022\/10\/Gurung-6-e1666628813959.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"384\" height=\"308\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 384px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 384\/308;\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Pisgah National Forest<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sliding Rock and Looking Glass Waterfall are both located in the Pisgah National Forest, about 1.5 hours away from Furman.
