October is Over — Now What?

November is here, and fall semester at Furman is nearing the end, but there is so much left in store!

Weekends at the Well!

Football season has come to a close, but let the basketball fun begin! Tickets to Furman basketball games are included in tuition, so you will never have to pay out of pocket, but get there early because the student section fills up fast. Many home games will take place right here on campus at Timmons Arena, but one of the most anticipated Furman traditions is Weekends at the Well!

These are basketball games played off-campus at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena only about 15 minutes away right outside of Downtown Greenville. It is always super fun to attend these games and ride on the Furman Trolley with all your friends to cheer on the Dins in the heart of Greenville!

Thanksgiving Dinner in the Dining Hall

The Christmas decorations aren’t up just yet, Thanksgiving Break is a great time to go home to relax with your family before the kick-off to finals season! The day before students leave for Thanksgiving Break, the Daniel Dining Hall goes all out with a Thanksgiving feast for the entire student body. A variety of stations from seafood to a homemade pie bar are put out for all the students to enjoy, but get there early because the lines are super long!

Christmas in Greenville

As the Christmas season kicks-off, Downtown Greenville begins its transformation into Winter Wonderland. One of my favorite things to do downtown at Christmas time is to go ice skating at Ice on Main right outside of the Courtyard Marriott! Such a beautiful set up and always fun to skate (or in my case, fall — a lot) with friends and wrap up the day with a warm hot chocolate or coffee from Spill the Beans coffee shop. Another Greenville Christmas tradition is the hall of Christmas trees located throughout the Hyatt Regency in downtown. Hundreds of Greenville businesses decorate elaborate Christmas trees throughout the hotel, and it is the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit and take tons of pictures of course!

Moonlight Breakfast

Along with the Christmas season, comes exam season! But, Furman does a fantastic job of providing many study fuel and break opportunities. A Furman favorite is the Moonlight Breakfast in the Daniel Dining Hall. This takes place on the eve of the first day of finals from 9pm to midnight! During this event the dining hall is of course serving breakfast for dinner, but with a twist. Furman professors are the ones serving! Its the perfect chance to take a study break, refuel, and ask any last minute questions!
