Christmas in Greenville

If you know me, you know that Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year. I’ve grown up in Greenville my whole life and I LOVE spending Christmas here. There are always so many things happening downtown and in places surrounding Greenville that make the season so special. If you’ve never had the chance to see what Christmas looks like here, you’re missing out, but I wanted to take the chance to highlight some of my favorite things here!

Winter Wonderland – The Bengal Beat

One of my must-do’s every season is going downtown and skating on the Ice on Main skating rink. They put a big skating rink right in the heart of downtown and there are so many beautiful lights and decorations that just make it feel so “christmassy”! I always love going with my friends and family and watching people fall all over the place. It can get pretty crowded on some weekends, so I always try and go during the week. No matter what, this is always something I love doing every Christmas season!

Another fun thing to see downtown is the Festival of Trees hosted at different hotels. There are so many beautiful trees between the Courtyard Marriott, Embassy Suites, and especially Hyatt Regency. Different groups around Greenville will sponsor a tree and decorate it with things that relate to them. Schools, businesses, and other groups around the community make these trees so special. It’s so much fun to walk around and see all of the different themed trees. It brings so much Christmas joy to each of these hotels.Mom Review: The Upstate Holiday Light Show

One thing in the Greenville area that I think is SO cool is the Upstate Holiday Light show at the Greenville Pickens Speedway. They completely deck out the race track with over 32 million lights… what??? It’s so fun and it’s completely synchronized to a local radio station. You get to hear some of your favorite Christmas songs to go with the beautiful lights!! They also have areas you can stop and see a petting zoo, ice skating rink, get hot chocolate, and lots of other things.

The location of Greenville makes the Christmas season great too. It’s perfect to take day trips or weekend trips to some of the best places like Asheville, Atlanta, McAdenville, and a ton of other cities or small mountain towns. I also love driving up to Greenwood, SC for the night to see drive-in Christmas movies. There is so much to in the area and countless things to make it really feel like Christmas!

Obviously I’m biased, but I love spending Christmas in Greenville every year. If you haven’t experienced a Greenville Christmas, I would say it’s worth the trip. Let me know if you ever need any Christmas must-see’s nearby or want to know more!

ALL the love!
