She is originally from San Antonio, Texas, though she grew up around the world as a member of a military family. Covey earned her BA from Liberty University, where she studied journalism and English and was a news editor at the school paper. Covey previously worked at <em>Inside Elections<\/em>, where she served as a reporter and analyst, as well as at<em> National Journal<\/em>, where she reported on campaigns and national politics as a writer and editor of Hotline\u2019s <em>Wake-Up Call<\/em> and <em>Latest Edition<\/em>. She was also a news assistant for NPR\u2019s <em>Morning Edition<\/em> and <em>Weekend Edition<\/em>. Erin has appeared on C-SPAN\u2019s <em>Washington Journal<\/em> and Sirius XM, and her analysis has been featured in <em>The Wall Street Journal<\/em>, <em>The Washington Post<\/em>, <em>Bloomberg News<\/em>, and local news outlets across the country. She is a contributing author for the <em>2024 Almanac of American Politics<\/em> and was a co-host of the <em>Inside Elections<\/em> Podcast.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Jessica Taylor (<em>The Cook Political Report<\/em>)<\/h3>\n<p>Jessica Taylor is the Senate and Governors Editor for <em>The Cook Political Report with Amy Walter<\/em>. Before joining Cook, Taylor was a political reporter for NPR for five years, where she covered elections and breaking news, ranging from the White House to both chambers of Congress and statewide elections. An East Tennessee native, she graduated <em>magna cum laude<\/em> in 2007 with a BA in political science from Furman University, where she is a member of the Alumni Board. She is the first female senior author for <em>The Almanac of American Politics<\/em> in the book\u2019s 50-year history, a role she held for both the 2022 and 2024 editions. Taylor has previously served as a senior analyst\/reporter for <em>The Rothenberg Political Report<\/em> (now <em>Inside Elections<\/em>). Her quotes and analysis appear in <em>The New York Times<\/em>, <em>The Washington Post<\/em>, <em>The Wall Street Journal<\/em>, and numerous other publications. She has reported on politics for several prestigious outlets over the past decade \u2014 including the NBC News Political Unit, <em>National Journal<\/em>, POLITICO, and <em>The Hill<\/em>, where she served as campaign editor. She has appeared on PBS, MSNBC, Fox News, C-SPAN and CNN.
