That\u2019s why we\u2019ve made <strong data-start=\"284\" data-end=\"308\">new work development<\/strong> a cornerstone of our program. Students collaborate with emerging and established playwrights to bring brand-new scripts to life\u2014often for the very first time.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"471\" data-end=\"845\">Our process is guided by the <strong data-start=\"500\" data-end=\"546\">Liz Lerman Critical Response Process (CRP)<\/strong>, a nationally recognized framework that centers the artist\u2019s voice while fostering thoughtful, constructive feedback. This ensures that each artist&#8217;s vision remains at the heart of the work while giving students invaluable opportunities to practice collaboration, inquiry, and interpretation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"847\" data-end=\"1189\">We\u2019re also proud to be a partner in <strong data-start=\"883\" data-end=\"935\">The Farm Theater\u2019s College Collaboration Project<\/strong>, which connects early-career professional playwrights with college theatre programs across the country. Through this initiative, Furman students not only develop new plays on campus but also contribute to a national conversation about the future of theatre-making.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1191\" data-end=\"1551\">From staged readings to fully produced premieres, Furman Theatre has championed new plays like\u00a0<em>Kappa Kappa Scream\u00a0<\/em>by Randall David Cook &#8217;91, <em data-start=\"1286\" data-end=\"1298\">Screentime<\/em> by Margaret Rose Caterisano, <em data-start=\"1328\" data-end=\"1341\">Our Tempest<\/em> by Jake Brasch, and <em data-start=\"1362\" data-end=\"1391\">John Proctor is the Villain<\/em> by Kimberly Belflower.
