As noted by the American Economic Association<\/a>, \u201cEconomics majors are successful in a wide variety of careers. Although various roles in businesses are most common, economics majors are successful in law, medicine, government, non-profits, and international relations, as well as in academic roles.\u201d\u00a0 Given that economics majors are well-suited for many different professions, internships provide students with an opportunity to explore different potential career paths.\u00a0 In addition to providing insight into different jobs, internships are also a great way for students to develop their career competencies<\/a>.<\/p>\n Many of our economics students find internship opportunities through the Furman Internships office<\/a>, through opportunities sponsored by the Furman Malone Center for Career Engagement<\/a>, through economics alumni, through their own networks, or through independent searches.
