They have received <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/academic-affairs\/teaching-advising-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Furman\u2019s highest teaching and advising award<\/a> for faculty ten times \u2014 six for meritorious teaching, and four for meritorious advising.<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/academics\/chemistry\/student-experiences\/research\/\">active researchers<\/a> who receive funding from national research centers like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nih.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Institutes of Health<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Science Foundation<\/a>, our faculty and staff provide undergraduate students at all levels an opportunity to conduct intensive summer research. They lead individual laboratories and work with students one-on-one on meaningful research projects.
