Their job is to be a <strong>collaborator<\/strong> and <strong>co-learner\u00a0<\/strong>alongside Furman students as you engage with and work through course content. Our mission is to not only help you learn class material, but to help you become a more effective learner overall.<\/p>\n<p>We accept applications on a rolling basis and review them whenever we have open positions.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">September 3, 2026: We are hiring tutors for the 2026-27 academic year!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our highest priority is to hire tutors for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Biology (<strong>BIO 110<\/strong>: Molecules, Genes, and Cells;\u00a0 <strong>BIO 120<\/strong>: Form and Function of Living Systems; and <strong>BIO 130<\/strong>: Populations, Ecosystems, and Global Change)\n<ul>\n<li>These are new courses &#8211; feel free to email <a href=\"mailto:peerlearning@furman.edu\">peerlearning@furman.edu<\/a> if you&#8217;re interested in tutoring but have questions!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Chemistry (CHM 220)<\/li>\n<li>Earth &amp; Environmental Science (EES 111, EES 112, EES 113, and EES 115)<\/li>\n<li>Mathematics (MTH 120, MTH 145, 150, and 151)<\/li>\n<li>Physics (PHY 111 and PHY 112)<\/li>\n<li>Sociology (SOC 101)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>However, we are also open to applications for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Anthropology<\/li>\n<li>Economics (ECN 111)<\/li>\n<li>Philosophy<\/li>\n<li>Religion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Consultants are trained undergraduate students from a variety of majors and minors.
