Why Furman? The community and sense of belonging I felt while on campus interacting with students, staff, and faculty.

Which professor has made the biggest impact on you while at Furman, and why? Dr. Criss has made the biggest impact on me because she was the first professor I met. I was a perspective student at accepted students day and I was in her class. She was so engaging and upbeat. She ended being my advisor here at Furman. I just got accepted into Public Health and now she’s my advisor for the rest of my time here. She always has ideas, connections, and experience to share and is always there to support me as a student and a person.

What is your favorite Furman memory? One of my favorite memories during my time at Furman was during the summer of my sophomore year. I served as an orientation leader. It was such a rich experience that gave me a new perspective on the Furman culture but also allowed me to grow in tremendous ways. Inclusion is cultivated through being vulnerable and first accepting yourself. This experience taught me the importance of acceptance. On the last night the staff shared an emotional time of sharing and thanking each other for all the shared experiences. This really describes the Furman community in my opinion.

What is your favorite thing spot/activity to do in Greenville? Kuka Juice in West Greenville and Old Europe downtown are my favorite study and relaxation places. Gather GVL is another fun place to unwind with friends in a fun and upbeat environment.

In my spare time I like to... Meditate, take pictures, shop online, read poetry, drink coffee with friends, and watch Tik Toks.
