Student Highlights

Students are intimately involved with FU’s sustainability efforts. Their work and contribution is evident thorough this site and to all of our constituents. This page will highlight student achievements in the broad and diverse array of sustainability programs on campus and beyond.

The Lifestyle Project

Congratulations to Dr. Wes Dripps and the Environmental Community of Students (ECOS) whose 12 minute film "The Lifestyle Project" was named the grand prize winner in a contest sponsored by the Student Conservation Association (SCA). The film received a $15,000 prize.

Cargo of Dreams

Last fall, Africa Rising and the Heller Service Corps helped to lead an effort to retrofit a 320-square-foot container into a small schoolhouse complete with a bathroom, kitchen and classroom.  The project was shipped to a rural area outside of Cape Town, South Africa in November and is now part of a four-room school.  FUnet videoagapher Christina Ho revisits the project in this video:
