The Housing and Residence Life Office is committed to providing students with disabilities an equal opportunity to access its residential community. We partner with Furman's Student Office of Accessibility Resources, Health Services, and Counseling Center to provide reasonable accommodations for students with medical, physical or psychological conditions.
Students will be notified of the status of their request within four weeks after the deadline date. Requests submitted after the deadline will be considered late and may result in a processing delay or lack of availability of the requested housing accommodations. New or urgent conditions will be considered upon receipt. Please note that if a student with an approved need turns down the opportunity to live in a space that accommodates their need, the approval may be cancelled by Housing and Residence Life.

The student's request must be reviewed then approved first. After on-campus professionals review the documentation provided, the student will receive notification of the final decision via his/her Furman University e-mail account. Students with approved needs will be offered high priority for placement in an available space that meets the need.
