The Student Diversity Council is the umbrella organization for diversity-focused organizations on campus. The purpose of the council is:
- To meet to discuss and assist in program coordination of the member organizations and any phase of diversity life on the campus which is in the interest of the student body.
- To encourage and promote awareness of cultural diversity among Furman University students, faculty, and staff, as well as the Greenville community.
- To expand and share the responsibility of promoting and sustaining diversity at Furman University to all major campus organizations through mutual support, communication, and co-sponsorship among these organizations.
- To work with faculty and staff members to enhance diversity relations on campus.
