The Summer Research and Internships Fellows and the Hipp Fellowship programs are designed to give students interesting and challenging educational opportunities beyond the classroom. The Hipp Program is designed in particular for students with high GPAs or who participate in international experiences. The same application is used for both programs with funds allocated as appropriate.

Summer Internship Fellows
Summer Internship Fellows provide competitive
fellowships to students who obtain full-time (minimum of eight weeks) summer
internships that have an academic component directly related to their major or
career goals. Through this program, students apply and compete for stipends to
help offset expenses or supplement their salary. Applications are reviewed by
a committee. The program supports students
in all majors in summer internships throughout the nation and the world, with
priority given to rising seniors and rising juniors. More information is
available on the application. Please contact Andy Coe at email@example.com or 864-294-3110 for any questions about the Internship Fellowship.
Teaching Fellows collaborate five hours a week during the
academic year (or 20 hours a week during the summer) as junior colleagues to
faculty members, assisting them with some aspect of teaching or course
development. For example, they might help a faculty member develop a laboratory
for a course, lead discussion sections, develop visual aids for a course,
and/or help the professor give individual attention and tutoring in a course.
Selected students are typically juniors and seniors who have at least a 3.0
grade point average in their major. The application deadline is generally
mid-April for the following academic year. Please contact Andy Coe at firstname.lastname@example.org or 864-294-3110 for any questions about the Teaching Fellowship.
