Have a story to tell? We can help you share it. Our office works closely with faculty, students, staff and alumni to raise awareness about the achievements, experience and research of our community. We distribute news releases to the local and national media, and help our faculty and staff craft effective op-ed pieces. Our journalists and editors will also work with you to create stories for Furman's wide variety of communications platforms, whether you're interested in having a story featured in our alumni magazine, or promoted on Furman's website. Work with us, and we'll help you reach your intended audience.
News and Media Relations
Our office is one of the chief points of contact between the University and its external audiences, including the news media. We prepare news releases, and can assist faculty and staff in placing op-ed pieces.
In addition to responding to media requests and helping put
reporters in contact with university experts, we oversee a comprehensive hometown news
program that features student honors and accomplishments. Contact Vince Moore.
Furman Magazine is published twice a year for alumni and friends of the university. Read the most recent issue [PDF].
Alumni Music Magazine
Developed by our office, the Alumni Music Magazine is a publication of the Furman Music Department. Each issue contains feature stories, alumni profiles and a list of performances held within the department. Contact Carol Anne Ward.
News and Events website
Our office selects and maintains the features, and news releases promoted on Furman's News and Events website. Visit the News and Events site.
As the university's internal newsletter, Inside Furman contains employee profiles, news, a contributed column and photos. It is published quarterly, and distributed to Furman's trustees, faculty, staff, retirees and members of the advisory board. Read Inside Furman.
The Flusher is a weekly flyer that is posted in well-populated university restrooms during the school year. Each issue contains a photo of the week, short news items and calendar of events. For more information, contact Jennifer Bobo.
