Our graphic design guide provides visual identity guidelines for all printed and electronic communications, including publications, newsletters, signage, e-mail templates, and PowerPoint presentations. These rules explain how to apply typography and colors for a consistent look that strengthens Furman's image.

Official university colors

The university's school colors are royal purple and white. Furman's color palette also includes gray in its communication materials. For print and electronic communications, the standard for these colors is Pantone Violet and Pantone 425 (gray).

Official university logos

Furman's official logos should be used in their original form and proportion. Production or use of the logo in non-official letterhead or business cards is prohibited.

Academic and Diamond F logos

The academic logo represents all academic and support areas at Furman University. The Diamond F logo should be reserved to represent Furman athletic and sport areas.

On printed pieces, such as a brochure or newsletter, place the logo after all copy and materials, on the bottom of single page items, on the last page or on the back of printed pieces with multiple pages.

The logo should be used in its original form and proportion. You may use the logo at different sizes, but may not condense, extend or crop the logo. If resizing a logo, press your shift key down while scaling up or down. This will keep the logo artwork in proportion, preventing distortion.

Bell Tower and Diamond F symbols

The Bell Tower or diamond F symbols may be used alone without the wordmark on premium items for embossing, embroidery or printing on hats, shirts, bags, etc.

Paladin Mascot Logo

The Paladin mascot logo represents Furman's mascot, the Paladin. It is not limited to athletics. Download our Paladin Graphic Standards guide as a PDF.

Wordmark

The wordmark may not be used separately from the Bell Tower symbol, nor can the configuration be altered in any way other than sizing up or down.

Typography

The following typography are the preferred fonts for Furman's print publications and official letterhead:
