If you are planning to attend a summer session, you must have federal loan eligibility remaining from the current academic year and be enrolled at least half time to receive need-based financial assistance.
All applicants interested in federal and state grants, loans, and work study must complete the 2013-2014 FAFSA. The Title IV code to use for Furman to receive your FAFSA results in 003434. Complete your FAFSA.
The annual deadline to complete your FAFSA is April 1. Keep in mind that this date is for the upcoming academic year—not the summer session alone. If you are planning to borrow for the summer session, you should apply for the appropriate amount needed at the beginning of the academic year. We strongly encourage you to finish your application by early March so that we will receive your FAFSA for consideration.
Summer research & Internships Fellows
Furman offers one of the few programs in the country that directly
funds student internships and research experiences, providing competitive fellowships for students
who would otherwise receive little or no payment. Learn more about our research and internship fellowships.
Federal Pell Grant
To qualify for a Pell Grant, you must have Pell Grant funds remaining from the previous academic year. You could be eligible for this grant if you did not attend class in the previous academic year, or if you did not fully utilize your grant. Contact our office to find out if you are eligible.
