Bringing the World to Furman - and Furman to the World
An aggressive plan to strengthen international recruitment efforts at Furman is already showing results. From 2010 to 2011, enrollment of international students tripled from seven to twenty-one. They represent fourteen countries and four continents.
The university is continuing to make recruiting and retaining international students a priority in its admission strategy and a key initiative of the final phase of the campaign. In addition, Furman hopes to enhance the diversity of backgrounds within the international student population, reaching out to students in countries not traditionally represented on campus.
The ultimate goal: To increase Furman's international student population to ten percent of the freshman class by 2018.
