The Furman Sportsmedicine Center with four
campus locations, state-of-the-art equipment and a diverse professional staff,
provides the finest in sports rehabilitation, physical therapy and athletic
The Sportsmedicine Center opened its
doors in 1992. We extended our services
to the public in 1995. Since that time,
we have been an active member of the Greenville community and one of the most
respected rehabilitation facilities in the area. In 2014 the therapy component of our
operation further strengthened its position in the medical community by
partnering with the Bon Secours St. Francis Therapy network. This venture created the St. Francis Therapy Center @ Furman Sportsmedicine.
We utilize a multi-disciplinary
approach to patient care, bringing together professionals with diverse
experience in sports medicine and physical therapy. The high level of care and personal attention
afforded to our collegiate athletes is also extended to our rehab patients. Our experienced physical therapists and
athletic trainers work together to plan an effective and comprehensive program
of recovery, a program that includes treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention
of future injuries. Our goal is to help
you return to your active life-style…..whether that is walking around the block,
playing with your grandchildren or running a marathon.
Our patients include a wide range of
individuals from the collegiate athlete to the endurance or professional
athlete. We also care for those injured
on the job and our senior adults.
The Sportsmedicine operation is also
responsible for the delivery of healthcare services for the university’s
Division I Intercollegiate Athletic Program.
Staff monitors the health status of all student-athletes on an on-going
basis. Teams are provided injury
prevention programs, acute injury care, and rehabilitation programs.
The Sportsmedicine Center represents a total commitment by Furman
University to offer quality healthcare services to not only the Furman family
but the Greenville community.
