Elaine received her Bachelor of
Science degree from Winthrop College in 1980.
She completed her Master degree in Health & Exercise Science from
Furman University in 1982. Elaine has
over 30 years of experience in athletic healthcare, ranging from the
development of injury prevention programs, acute injury management, to the
rehabilitation component of injury recovery.
She has extensive experience in the care of the high level collegiate,
professional, and fitness/endurance athlete. She is known for her motivational
style, challenging her patients in reaching their recovery goals. Elaine has directed the Sports Medicine and
Rehabilitation operation for over 20 years.
She has consulted for numerous colleges and universities in the
development of a rehabilitation component within their own sports medicine
As an Associate Athletic Director for
Furman University, she is a member of the management team for the Athletic
Department. Her area of responsibility
centers on student-athlete health and welfare.
In this role, Elaine directs the development and implementation of policies,
procedures and programs to ensure the health and safety of the over 430
student-athletes competing in Furman’s Athletic Program.
