In July, 2008 the Freeman Foundation, as part of its support for the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia (NCTA), provided a three week study tour of China and Japan for a select group of South Carolina middle and high school teachers. All of the teachers had completed the SCCTA 45 hour seminar on teaching about Asia. Each teacher was obligated to create a classroom unit that would be aimed at bringing their East Asian experiences back to their students and colleagues. The photographs below represent a sample of some of the experiences had by this fine group of educators.
