Teachers of Government Advisory Board

Teachers of Governement Advisory Board (l-r): Harriet Herndon, Gary Purinton, Tami Miller, Craig Griffith, Prakash Elston, Sharon McAbee, Kathy Creswell, Hale Edwards, Liz Smith, Russ Diesinger

The Riley Institute has created a Teachers of Government Advisory Board comprised of professional educators who are graduates of the annual Teachers of Government (TOG) Summer Institute program. All team members are leaders in their field with backgrounds in teacher training, curriculum development, and educational resources learned through their TOG experience. The team members were selected to serve on the TOG Advisory Board based on interest, commitment, and recommendations.

The TOG Advisory Board will maintain email correspondence with educators and provide leadership in the areas of educational resources and curriculum planning. They will also serve as mentors to fellow social studies educators.

Board members serve a two-year term, with the option of serving additional years. This process will create a team consisting of veteran and new members to make efficient transitions to future teams. In the event of a vacancy, former TOG alumni will be invited to apply for a position on the team.
