The second
annual Upstate Diversity Leadership Awards Dinner, hosted by the
Anderson Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Greater Greenville
Chamber of Commerce and the Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce, took
place at the Anderson Civic Center, Anderson, SC on May 9, 2006.
It was attended by over 550 members of the community.
Joseph B.
Anderson, Jr. was the guest speaker at this year's award dinner.
Anderson's background includes thirteen years in the military
followed by a business career with General Motors (1979-1992),
Composite Energy Management Systems, Inc. (1992-1994), and Chivas
Products Limited (1994-2002). Currently, he serves as Chairman
& CEO of TAG Holdings, LLC, which supports a variety of industries
including automotive, consumer products and recreational vehicles.
Anderson's community involvement includes Horizons-Upward Bound
Advisory Board, and Board of Directors of Focus: Hope. For his

Awards were
presented to recognize three individuals and three organizations
for their outstanding achievement in promoting diversity in the
Upstate. The winners are as follows:
