GOP Senate Candidates Debated at Furman
Furman Unviersity, McAlister Auditorium

The six Republicans vying to represent South Carolina in the U.S. Senate gathered on the Furman University campus Wednesday, April 7 for a debate that was televised live statewide. Click here for the Greenville News article.

The debate, which began at 7 p.m. in McAlister Auditorium, was broadcasted by WSPA-TV in Spartanburg. The event was co-sponsored by WSPA-TV and Furman’s Richard W. Riley Institute of Government, Politics and Public Leadership. Furman’s student chapter of the College Republicans also served as a sponsor.

The debate was also broadcasted by WLTX in Columbia, WBTW in Florence/Myrtle Beach and WCBD in Charleston. Six Republicans attended the debate, David Beasley, Charles Condon, Orly Benny Davis, Jim DeMint, Mark McBride and Thomas Ravenel. Click here for the Greenville News article and The State article.

The primary will be held in South Carolina on June 8. The general election takes place November 2.
