Mark Sanford
Governor of South Carolina
Mark Sanford,
current Governor and former Representative of the State of South
Carolina, was first elected to the House in 1994, and has worked
to affect change in Social Security, limit government and create
a "citizen" Congress, and now a state run on similar principals.
He is a 1983 graduate of Furman and received an M.B.A. degree from
the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. A native
of Beaufort, he has been serving as South Carolina's Governor since
January 15 of 2003.
John Spratt
Representative of South Carolina
John Spratt,
a native of York, has represented South Carolina's 5th District
in the US House of Representatives since1983. He is the Ranking
Member on the House Budget Committee as well as a senior member
of the National Security Committee. He was also a key negotiator
of the Balanced Budget Agreement. He graduated from Davidson College
in 1964 and won a Marshall Scholarship to Oxford University, where
he studied economics and political science.
