The Second Annual National Conference
Women and Politics: Transforming public Leadership
October 6-7, 2003

The second national conference, "Women and Politics: Transforming Public Leadership," designed to assess changes in the trajectory and scope of women's political involvement in South Carolina and the United States over the past three decades, took place in downtown Greenville as well as on campus. The conference opened with "A Conversation: Hillary Rodham Clinton, United States Senator from New York at The Peace Center for the Performing Arts with Deedee Corradini, Former Mayor, Salt Lake City, and Former President, U.S. Conference of Mayors, and with Introductions by Susan Thomson Shi, Furman University First Lady.
