Grade Point Average (GPA) Projector

This tool is designed to help you project the average letter grade required to achieve or maintain a specific GPA.

To use it, you'll need:

  • your current total "grade points" (credits x grade points for all traditionally-graded courses)
  • your current cumulative GPA
  • how many credits you'll be attempting that factor into your GPA (for example, 16 credits is a typical load in fall or spring semesters)
  • what GPA you are trying to achieve

Some helpful information:

As a current Furman student, to obtain the first two pieces of required information via ARMS, go to the Students menu, and under Academic Data, click on unofficial transcript. Select ARMS Undergrad/Grad Transcript as the type (it's the default) and scroll to the bottom of your transcript. Here you can see your current total grade points and your current cumulative GPA.

Enter these two numbers above along with the number of credits you'll be attempting. Finally, enter a desired GPA and click Submit. The tool will calculate what grade you'll need to earn on average in the courses you're attempting to achieve the desired GPA. Be aware that this is an average, so if you need a 3.00, one A, one B, and one C will average to a 3.00 for example.
