The zip line course at Earthshine features a series of 8 traversing "zips" through the tree tops. The first zip, goes from the ground to a tree house 70 feet in the air. One of the "zips" is a 20 ft rope swing over a small ravine to a tree house on the opposite side. The most exciting challenge occurs when you and a classmate take the 450 foot ride, side- by- side from the top of the treehouse, over the ravine, and to the ground. Each participant is protected of course by a safety harness and helmet.

The high ropes course is a series of challenges where you traverse along telephone poles, wires, and cargo nets from tree top to tree top. The course ends in a "leap of faith" in which you jump from a platform 30 feet in the air and try to grab a hanging trapeze bar. Each participant is protected by a safety harness and helmet.

The third day of the trip involves 2 exciting runs down the 52 degree Nantahala River. This river is an exhilarating introduction to whitewater rafting. The first excursion involves you and 5 of your classmates guiding a raft down the river. After a lunch on the banks of the Nantahala, you and one classmate brave the raging rapids in a 2 person duckey.
