The Furman University Summer Outdoor Experience is a program designed specifically for incoming freshman students as a way to introduce them to their future classmates, prepare them for college life, and to have a blast along the way!  The program is held in two locations:  1) in the mountains of North Carolina at the breath-taking Earthshine Lodge and Nantahala Gorge and 2) undeveloped barrier islands near Charleston, SC,.  The North Carolina trip features fun-filled whitewater rafting, gorgeous hiking opportunities, a zip line course, and other outdoor activites.  The trip to Charleston includes a sea kayaking adventure to a barrier island, a water park and a sunset cruise around the Charleston harbor.  The cost for each trip is $500.00.
