CBS' Lesley Stahl To Speak At Peace Center Monday In Riley Institute-Sponsored Event

Lesley Stahl | GREENVILLE, S.C. - Broadcast journalist Lesley Stahl, who has interviewed many of the world's most important political figures during a long and illustrious career with CBS News, will speak in Greenville Monday, May 17 on "Television and Politics in America."
Stahl's presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Peace Center's Gunter Theater. Tickets are $20, and can be purchased at the Peace Center Box Office.
The program is sponsored by Furman University's Richard W. Riley Institute of Government, Politics and Public Leadership and WSPA-TV.
Stahl, an award-winning journalist, is co-editor and correspondent for the CBS News program "60 Minutes." This is her 12th year on the broadcast, and she is also anchor of "48 Hours Investigates."
Prior to joining "60 Minutes," Stahl was CBS News White House correspondent during the Carter and Reagan administrations and part of the term of George H.W. Bush. Her reports appeared frequently on the "CBS Evening News," both with Walter Cronkite and Dan Rather, and on other CBS News broadcasts.
She also served as moderator of CBS' "Face The Nation" during much of that time, where she interviewed such newsmakers as Margaret Thatcher, Boris Yeltsin, Yasir Arafat and virtually every top U.S. official, including George Bush and Dan Quayle.
Stahl has won numerous Emmy Awards for her interviews on "Face The Nation" and her reporting with "60 Minutes," and was just recently honored with a Lifetime Achievement Emmy for her body of journalistic work.
