187.8 Faculty Roll Books

 

A. Background

In order to facilitate record-keeping it is desirable for class attendance and grades to be kept in a standardized way.

 

B. Policy

Each faculty member should maintain a record of student performance by recording grades clearly and understandably in an official roll book.

 

C. Guidelines

1. Each faculty member may secure one class roll book annually without charge at the University Store. Additional roll books may be purchased at cost.

2. Roll books containing students' academic records should be retained in the appropriate department office for possible verification of performance.

3. A faculty member terminating his or her relationship to the University may choose to deposit his or her roll book with the department chair.
