186.2 Faculty Meetings

 

A. Background

The business of the faculty is transacted at regularly scheduled faculty meetings and at special called meetings.

 

B. Policy

Faculty members are expected to attend faculty meetings and to be familiar with the announced agenda.

 

C. Guidelines

1. The faculty regularly meets on the second Monday of each month of the regular school year at 3:30 P.M. Ordinarily, classes and other activities requiring faculty attendance should not be scheduled to conflict with this meeting time.

2. Reminders and agenda are distributed electronically before each meeting. Usually items of new business are distributed to the faculty at least one week prior to the faculty meeting.

3. Special meetings may be called according to the procedures specified in the Faculty Constitution.

4. Faculty are expected to attend the meetings and to be familiar with the issues on the agenda. Active participation in the meetings is encouraged and welcomed.

5. Every faculty member, as defined in the Constitution, is entitled to vote.
