111.11 Director of Continuing Education |
A. Background The Division of Continuing Education offers a program of noncredit courses and a program of credit courses that lead to the degree of Bachelor of General Studies. The programs are under the direction of the Director of Continuing Education. |
B. Policy The Director of Continuing Education plans and administers Furman's Continuing Education Program including credit and non credit activities. |
C. Guidelines 1. The Director of Continuing Education is appointed by and directly responsible to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean. 2. The major activities for which he is responsible are: Undergraduate Evening Studies Lifelong Learning (noncredit courses for personal and professional development) Summer Camps and Conferences The Furman University Learning in Retirement program (FULIR) 3. Special duties and functions of the Director of Continuing Education include the following:
