MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR
On behalf of the members of the Furman Public Safety Department, I would like to extend a welcome to the campus and our web site.
Each year, we have provided a number of publications intended to provide you with essential information regarding the University's security related services, programs, policies, and campus crime statistics. We have posted weekly crime summaries on this web site and in The Paladin newspaper to keep you informed of crimes on campus. We continually add new information and features to our web. We welcome your suggestions regarding topics and features to our web site.
The Public Safety Department is charged with providing the leadership and coordination of the campus security and safety program. Keeping Furman students, employees and visitors secure and safe is our number one concern. We take this issue seriously. To do so requires not just the efforts of the members of the Furman Public Safety Department, but the cooperation, understanding and support of every member of the Furman community. Thanks to everyone's participation and support, we have an excellent security and safety program.
We ask that you do your part to help protect yourself and others. I encourage you to carefully review the information provided on this web site, especially, the crime prevention tips. Personal safety is the responsibility of each us. We need your assistance to help keep our campus a safe and secure environment.
If you have any questions regarding our policies or services, or any suggestions to improve our services, please contact me at 294-2111, by email at bob.miller@furman.edu, or come by the Public Safety Office to see me.
Sincerely,
Robert M. Miller
Director of Public Safety
