Congratulations to our Kappa Krush Michael McPhee with Beta Theta Pi!
Thank you all so much for support during the our Kappa Krush Pageant! We raised over $1500 dollars total, with $770 for Reading is Fundamental!
Thank you especially to our other contestants: Jan Lukas (Sigma Chi), David Flores (Pi Kappa Phi), Hunter Weber (SAE), Ian Miller (Sigma Nu), and Ait Fetterolf (TKE)! We couldn't have done it without you!
Reading is Fundamental
Reading is Fundamental, Inc., is the nation's oldest and largest nonprofit children's literacy organization. In 1966, former teacher Margaret McNamara brought a bag of used books to four boys in Washington,D.C., whom she tutored in reading. When she told the children they could each pick a book to keep, their astonishment and delight led her to discover that these children, and many of their classmates, had never owned any books. On November 3, 1966, after gathering volunteers, Mrs. McNamara launched the book distribution and reading motivation program they called Reading is Fundamental.
Today, RIF operates through 450,000 volunteers at 25,000 sites nationwide. RIF programs annually serve 5.1 million children of all ages, most of whom are at risk of educational failure, with a focus on those from birth to age 11. Supported by the US Department of Education, corporations, foundations, community organizations, and individuals, RIF has provided more than 265 million books since 1966 for children to choose and keep.
Kappa Kappa Gamma is glad to be a part of such a successful and meaningful organization.

Boys and Girls Club
Locally, we have partnered with the Boys and Girls Club. Every Monday afternoon, sisters help the kids during the Homework Power Hour.
Kappa Krush Pageant
Our 2nd Annual Kappa Krush Pageant will be on Thursday, October 23! With a contestant from each Fraternity on campus, the event is similar to a Miss USA pageant, featuring a dance performed by the contestants, a fashion segment, a talent portion and an interview portion. Each fraternity is paired with a sorority that supports their contestant throughout the week before.
We are very excited to announce that this year's pageant will also feature a performance by everyone's favorite Belltower Boys!
Check back for more information as the Pageant gets closer!
