  Friends of Lesbians and Gays (FLAG) was founded to educate both its members and non-members about the nature of and issues involving sexual orientation, including homosexuality, heterosexuality, bisexuality and transgenderism. Through the educational activities presented by FLAG, we hope to encourage others to learn about various ways of living in order to be tolerant and understanding of all orientations. FLAG is not affiliated with any political organization; it is essentially an educational and social group for everyone. Membership in the organization is open to everyone in the Furman community interested in supporting the goals of the group, regardless of sexual orientation.
