Furman alumni are invited to participate in the Career Services Volunteer Program. If you are willing to share of your time and expertise to help Furman students (and fellow alums) with career planning issues, please volunteer for one or more of the following programs. Depending on the program(s) you choose, you will be contacted on an as-needed basis by either our staff or interested students.
Here are descriptions of our volunteer programs:
Mentoring Programs
Career Link and Shadow Program
Career Link is Furman's career networking program. By volunteering, you will receive occasional inquiries from students (or fellow alumni) who are seeking career or job search information related to your career field.
The Shadow Program enables students to "shadow" individuals who are employed in career fields that are of interest to the student and observe them at work. The shadowing experience typically lasts a day, but can be more or less at your discretion.

Mock Interviews
If you have personnel or recruiting experience, we invite you to help us by participating in the Mock Interview program. Twice a year, we sponsor an evening event where experienced interviewers meet with students to help them improve their interviewing skills. This is an on-campus event.
Employment Recruiting
Act as a liaison between Career Services and hiring managers at your place of employment to facilitate the recruitment of Furman graduates. |
If you are a Furman University alumnus/a, and want more information on the Volunteer Programs, please complete and submit this form.
